Happy New Year from Kailua-Kona

LastSunset2010This was the last sunset of 2010.  It is the end of the first decade of the 21st century.

Simone and I enjoyed the view from Bubba Gump Shrimp Company in downtown Kailua-Kona.  Our waitress, Merav. was fantastic.  She was very friendly and we were able to talk SCUBA between order of garlic bread, shrimp and key-lime pie.  We  hung around for awhile since the sun didn’t set until around 5:50 PM (1750).

Our first stop in Kona was the farmers market where we picked up some banana bread and coconut-cheese bread.  Simone also picked up a few necklaces, I’m sure she will post all about them later.

Since it was our first full day on the Island we did some shopping and a lot of relaxing.

I took some late afternoon shots that I hope you will enjoy.
